Click Beetle

Elateridae; Elaterinae; Cryptalaus lacteus (Candeze, 1857). This Click Beetle is the the first of its kind I have ever seen. I had no idea what kind of insect it was and wanted to be sure of getting a few photos. The problem was that I did not have my camera with me. So I scooped it up in a small plastic bag and brought it home. I placed it on a sheet of paper for the pictures you see here. After the picture taking, I released it in our garden because I felt that the rice mill was such a busy place that the insect would be safer here.
