Description:

Jacanas are wetland birds are identifiable by their huge feet and toes that allows birds to walk on floating vegetation in the shallow lakes and calm rivers, which are their preferred habitat. Females practiced polyandry. The males take responsibility for incubating the eggs while females help defend a territory of up to four nests. ------------------------------ Las Jacanas son aves de humedales, identificables por sus enormes patas y dedos que permite a las aves caminar sobre la vegetación flotante en los lagos poco profundos y ríos tranquilos, que son su hábitat preferido. Las hembras practican la poliandria. Los machos toman la responsabilidad de la incubación de los huevos mientras que las hembras le ayudan a defender un territorio de hasta cuatro nidos.
