approx. 2 inches tall; 'puffball' about 1/2 inch diameter

Habitat:

spotted under oaks at riverfront home

Notes:

Possibly Geastrum fornicatum?

As with the speices ID (both the arched and beaked earthstar are plausible), I'm not real sure which it is, Harsha. But since we are on the Space Coast of Florida, I'm going with "spaceship".

If it has 7-9 rays I guess it could be The Beaked Earthstar Geastum pectinatum (wikipedia describes G. pectinatum as having 7-9 rays). Nice find
