Field Notes

Description:

The Blue-headed vireo is a small migrating songbird that is characterized by a bluish-gray head with a large white eyering and lores. The upperparts are olive green with two wing bars. The flanks are light yellow and transition to white at the belly. Both sexes are very similar in plumage and size.

Habitat:

Spotted in my backyard. Mostly deciduous forest nearby.
