Field Notes

Description:

Moth rescued in a building in the city and released in the country. The photos differ due to the different angle at which the photos were taken. In the third photo it looks like it has a mite, but Ken Childs said this: "That may be orchid pollinaria attached to the eye. They attached to the moth's eye when it nectars on the flower and then will hopefully pollinate another flower the next time the moths feeds."
