drP, I think I have to pay more attention to its leaves next time when I go there :)
Does it have any leaves at all? If the leaves aren't 3-lobed, it's not an oxalis. Having said that, the size and color immediately reminded me of O. violacea. No idea if it grows in your area or how to distinguish it from O. debilis if both are in your area.
Without the leaves and a sense of their size, it's hard to say. The overall shape looks like some species of Oxalis. Any chance the the leaves have three lobes, like a clover?
