Common Evening Brown

Nymphalidae; Satyrinae; Melanitis leda leda Linnaeus, 1758. The Common Evening Brown, according to Wikipedia, is "found flying at dusk". Whilst that is perfectly true, it does not give the complete picture. If you live in an area where this butterfly is present, as I do, it visits our front porch almost every morning when I am having a cup of coffee. Then at any time, during the day, if I walk around my backyard, or the rice fields, I will see several of them. The one shown here is a an example of the wet season form.
