Thanks Sukanya, I think the variegated leaves belong to another plant in close proximity, In the background of the second picture are more flower heads and the correct type of leaves for your Ginger suggestion. The Wiki link only leads to a single species as the rest all come up stating 'page does not exist'. Some kind of Wild Ginger...Wax Ginger, Pineapple Ginger are all look-alikes. Please check: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapeinochilos These look quite similar to yours although the leaves are not variegated.
