Field Notes

Description:

It is approximately 48 cm long. Adults have long and extremely thin neck. The tail and back of the body is also quite long. Under the wings the color is white. When the wings are extended, they show a color pattern formed by the sun with a gold color, brown and black.

Habitat:

It can be found from Mexico, the Brazilian Amazon to the Midwest region of Brazil inhabiting the banks of rivers and streams inside the dense forest and tangled vegetation at water's edge.
