Description:
Firefly (Lampyridae) about 15mm-20mm in length (excluding antennae).
Similar looking with Lychnuris praetexta or Pyrocoelia praetexta E. Olivier, 1911.
Update Feb 11, 2016: ID changed from Pyrocoelia sp. to Vesta sp. as suggested by PN member MichaelGeiser.
Habitat:
River bank in Brgy. Malupak, Lucban, Province of Quezon.
Notes:
The Lampyridae are a family of insects in the beetle order Coleoptera. They are winged beetles, and commonly called fireflies or lightning bugs for their conspicuous use of bioluminescence during twilight to attract mates or prey. (Wikipedia)
