Field Notes

Description:

Beautiful large leaf beetle. About 1.5cm long. Dorsal surface a bronze green with orange around the lower edge or the wing casings. Distinctive pattern on the surface.

Habitat:

Found by roadside on foliage. Lower elevation heading down into the Amazon, about the 500m mark.

Notes:

There appears to be very little information about this beetle. All information I have found indicates it is found in Peru and Bolivia. The name appears correct according to EOL but otherwise i know very little about it. Cool looking bug looks like is made from bronze!
