Field Notes

Description:

A handsome active jumping spider about 13 mm long. The body was dark with patches of white along the anterior margins of the head and abdomen. A reddish brown abdomen also showed a median jagged strip of white. <br> Legs were dark with pointed tarsi. <br>
Of the 4 eyes usually visible in the front, the middle pair were larger than the lateral ones.

Habitat:

Spotted in a cuburban backyard.

Notes:

A very curious jumper tried to jump on to the camera ( for a selfie perhaps!) <br> Family: Salticidae
