Description:

Short Beaked Echidna. Many can be seen in the spring months. Best place to search is grasslands where ants and termite mounds are prevalent.

Hey Carol, not that shy in the spring months. Common around Southeast Australia. Not the greatest of eyesight either but will quickly roll up and hunker down to protect itself when it detects someone.
