Description:

About 3.5 inches long, diamond shaped. I think it is a type of salp but don't know what species. Possibly Salpa fusiformis?

Habitat:

Rocky ocean shoreline

Notes:

They were present on the beach for 2 days only out of the whole summer.

Were they all diamond shaped.? could it have been a piece of a larger one , I believe in the open ocean they can reach incredible lengths
Very strange creature! I thought it was a snail trapped in ice until I saw your description!
