Field Notes

Description:

Small gilled mushrooms with white mealy caps about 45 mm across. Centres of caps were a pale buff. Narrow white stipe had a fragile annulus.

Habitat:

Growing on moist soil under tea-trees in a reserve with mixed native vegetation - Langwarrin Fauna and Flora Reserve

Notes:

Having forgotten to take a mirror for a better shot, this is the best I could do of the underside of the cap. Caps are said to become smoother as they mature.
Said to be common in moist forest ground.
Commonly called white dapperling by some.
