Field Notes

Description:

I found these very darkly colored flowers in the Rockys. It was growing alone at least a foot tall and didn't have a lot of leaves. In the second picture you can se charcoal from a fire that came through the area.

Habitat:

A hilltop in the underbrush near a river. Not nearly as wet as the area just below.

Notes:
