I'm pretty sure this is a type of cholla cactus (teddy bear perhaps?) but would like ID help to confirm. Thanks!

Habitat:

Found in the desert surrounding Palm Springs

cholla..longer and denser spines though..
My instinct is aligned with yours, I was thinking either teddy bear cholla or silver cholla (Cylindropuntia echinocarpa).
