Field Notes

Description:

Here is a variety of stick insect which I have often found while hiking through tall grass. Measures 4-6 inches and is colored tan or light brown, the color of dead grass.

Habitat:

Grassland.

Notes:

I believe the shape of its antennae are to mimic the seeds of the grass where it lives.
