Field Notes

Description:

The smallest falcon in North America at only 8 - 11" in length. Females top wings have reddish-brown cover while males have blue and red.

Notes:

Usually AMKE's scare so easily so it was nice being able to look at this beautiful animal up close. Luckily I spotted her around the corner of a 30 ft pile of rocks before she spotted me! Ocean view in the background.
