Field Notes

Notes:

This family of foxes was living under a neighbors shed at the retirement village my father lived in. They were very approachable, letting us get within 20 feet as they came out from under the shed.

What a incredible sight! They looked so calm too.
Very adorable! How lucky you are Tom15!
Thanks environmental-club12, I hope I get a chance to see something like this again.
Thanks Ashley and gatorfellows! The pup in the second picture is cute, and has a nice expression.
That is adorable! I especially love the second photo, he kind of has the derp look on his cute little face :)
Thanks Louisa and Christy!
What a gorgeous series!! What luck!! Nice spotting, Tom!
Thanks Antonio, I'm glad I got to see these foxes, I probably will never see this parental care again.

Wow!! Great spotting! :) You must've been so excited to find them! :)
Thanks for the comments Seema, S Frazier and Alice! Ashish, thanks for showing me the Parental Care project.
Tom...here is one Mission called Parental care ..... Please join it and submit this lovely spotting to it... http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/11166049
Even though they are a big pest here in Australia i have to admit they are very cute! Unfortunately the last wild kit i saw was one with a broken back sitting in the middle of the road :(
I've seen quite a few foxes over the years but they never looked as good or calm as these!
enjoyed going through the pics
I hope so! I'm pretty good at finding the not so common stuff, but I'm terrible at finding the common stuff! There are gray foxes all over the place here, but they don't exist to me so far lol
Ashley, I was lucky that my father told me about this family, otherwise I'd never have seen them. Sooner or later I'm sure you'll come across a fox or two, being outdoors a lot.
I have never seen anything so adorable in my whole life! I am so jealous, I have never seen a fox, much less a fuzzy baby one!!
Thanks Donna, they look cuddly:-)
Thanks Yuko, patty, ceherzog and alice! I'll probably never get this chance again.
Ahhh!! Nothing can be more precious & sweeter than this! Amazing!
Beautiful foxes and pictures Tom =)
Thanks for all the nice comments. This was a special day with these wonderful little foxes!
I wish I meet them one day. I know that they are around in my neighborhood. Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful pictures.
Beautiful! Have you considered adding this to the urban biodiversity mission? http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/35017
SO adorable! Kits are one of the cutest mammals alive. There is nothing better than seeing them roll around and play with one another.
What a nice spotting. The pictures are so cute. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks S Frazier. Some day I'll get out to the Australia/ New Guinea area, but it might have to wait until I can retire:-(
Excellent! Tom, you have the best of both worlds (temperate and tropics, of course)!
Thanks Carol and Karen. I really enjoy seeing and photographing all of nature.
WOW Tom! Great series. I am really enjoying all your photos from moths to mammals. This is just so cute and adorable!
