Habitat:

Black-eyed Susan is found on clayey loam to sandy loam soils. It has
low to moderate water requirements, and grows in full sun to partial
shade. It is found in plains and open woods, sunny
roadsides and meadows, sandhills and bogs, and disturbed
places
