Andorinha-do-rio (White-winged Swallow)

The best features for reliable determination are the dominant greenish plumage on their backs. It measures about 13.5 cm. It is a medium-sized bird, easily identified by the white spot on the wing, found in the inner flight feathers and larger wing. Males and females are similar. The outer flight feathers are blacker, although in some lighting conditions, blue and green colors can be displayed. The forehead is bright bluish green. The mantle and scapulars, often seem bluer during the breeding season. The head often appear bluer than the mantle. The parrots are black, and the headset have a bluish black color. The bottom of the adult birds are mostly white, as well as the rump and the upper tail of the shelter.
