Description:

he diamondback terrapin is most easily identified by the concentric ridges on the carapace (top of shell) and dark spots or streaks on the skin. Females are usually larger than males and measure 6 to 9 inches (15.2-22.9 cm) in carapace length while males measure 4 to 5.5 inches (10-14 cm).

Brackish Water

Notes:

This diamondback terrapin was saved from a crab pot, then released back into the wild.
