Field Notes

Description:

Measures of 44 - 61 cm. long and weighs around 620g. It has extremely broad flat beak, resembling a boat turned upside down.

Habitat:

It can be found in much of Brazil in mangroves, brackish lakes, freshwater marshes and forested rivers, with little seen by the fact of being more active at night. Rests during the day on trees in the same species groups.
