Field Notes

Description:

Small to medium fly. Colourful reflection in the eyes from the light source. Clean wings. Banded rear. Lines on thorax. Pale greenish legs.

Habitat:

This fly was found under a light at night but it seems that number of flies will move to a light source when their sleeping place is disturbed. (I was blundering through the bush just previously and quite close)

Notes:

Please do not use this spotting as a final reference. It is tentative at best!
