Field Notes

Description:

Bee - fuzzy dark yellow and black body with small clear wing

Habitat:

Urban back yard. Found him sitting on a grocery sack next to my recycling bin.

Notes:

The temperature is getting cooler here and the little thing stayed in the same spot on a grocery bag for a long time. Is it true that when bees get cold they don't move as much?

Welcome to Project Noah. Looks like a honey be to me (Apis mellifera) but I'm no expert. Enjoy the website.
