Field Notes

Description:

Measured 38 cm long. It has long legs and pointed toes. Species with sexual dimorphism. Females have more opaque color tending to brown, as well as young people. Males have black coloration.

Habitat:

It can be found throughout Brazil in ponds, estuaries, river and sea beaches, mangroves, swamps and rice paddies.
