Field Notes

Description:

It measures 14 cm. It has black color on the tops with the back of the crown, nape, mantle, black wings and tail. Forehead, face, chest and belly are white. The wings have two narrow white alar bars. Iris, beak and dark legs.

Habitat:

It is found in standing water made by floating vegetation, marshes, wetlands, swamps, flooded fields and pastures in the Brazilian Amazon, northeastern Brazil to the east of Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina.
