Field Notes

Description:

Iridescent green beetle. Approx 1 inch. Has purple, spindly legs. Edges of wings crimson. Segment that includes head rimmed in gold. Sprays skin irritant when threatened that smells terrible.

Habitat:

Seems to be numerous in North GA. Hilly, wooded, deciduous forest.

Notes:

Dead specimen missing head.
