Field Notes

Description:

We found this egg in the grass. There are some chickens around but it's too small for one, about 6 cm long. Probably a bird egg. I didn't want to leave it and took it home as many cats are around. I am a little worried it may belong to a snake, but it has a smooth and hard texture, not leathery and soft. There is something in it.

Looks like a bird egg if its hard. Do you have an incubator?
Is the shell leathery and kind of soft or hard like a chicken egg?
