Description:

Surprised this cutie was a bit tattered...99% of my spottings are pristine, do not know the reason why.... unless most of them....just emerged...??

Habitat:

Gallery Forest. 900 Meters-3000 feet above sea level, next to Tanaca National Park, a Pasture , and in a Garden with Endemic trees, plants and flowers of Costa Rica.

According to BOA it actually is Lamplight Actinote, although it is an Altinote sp. Do not ask me why...

Thank you Tukup, I do have a few bats but maybe not enough...I always thought that when they were tattered was because of the birds...I have seen some of my Hummers go for them....

Still a beautiful butterfly Gilma. In our area, tattered butterflies and moths are caused by the incredible number of bats here. Toward the end of their lives, they are all look pretty beat-up. Thanks for sharing.
