Little Brown Skink
Scincella lateralis
37.226, -95.7074
Field Notes
Description:
Kansas doesn't have much for reptiles, so it's always nice to find one. This is a little brown skink (also known as a ground skink, but that name can be applied to its whole genus), and he was on the move after we moved some boxes at work so I had to snap a pic fast before he was gone.
Habitat:
Found throughout most of the eastern US and into Mexico.
