Description:

Nephila antipodiana, also known as the Batik Golden Web Spider, is a species of golden orb-web spider discovered in 1841 by Charles Athanase Walckenaer. The species is found throughout Australia, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The spider's silk contains a pyrrolidine alkaloid which serves as a chemical repellant to keep ants away from the spider's web.

thanks bayucca, I guess it's indeed Batik Golden Orb Spider...I got another image (bit underexposed) that looks like the image from the link
Nephilidae, Nephila sp. and for me not the more common Nephila pilipes due to the shape and missing yellow spots on the legs. Do you have a picture from the other side? This probably would confirm the species. http://tidechaser.blogspot.ch/2013/06/spiders-scorpions-arachnida-singapore.html http://www.malaeng.com/blog/?p=3627
