Field Notes

Description:

The Limpkin measures up to 70 cm in length, possessing the dark brown body with white neck, beak with yellow jaw, head and neck striated white and black legs. Species without sexual dimorphism.

Habitat:

It can be found throughout Brazil in swamps and flooded fields, river banks with low vegetation and mangroves.
