Field Notes

Description:

This flatworm was resting underneath this plant pot, while moving it. There was two of them under the pot, one slightly larger that another. Bipalium kewense is believed to be native to Southeast Asia, but currently is found worldwide. It was probably introduced by international plant trade, as it is frequently found associated with plant pots.

Habitat:

In my garden (moist/dry environment) after several days of heavy rain., Fort Worth, Texas.

Notes:

This worm tends to get out of direct sunlight, so it moved away quickly.

Thanks Neil, it was a very beautiful specimen, being also fairly larger than the rest of them :-)
