Description:

Plant. Approximately 18 to 24 inches tall.
Flowers. Rose pink, rarely white, with greenish-yellow centers outlined in red to creates a 5-pointed star
Leaves. Simple; opposite; sessile and often clasping.
Fruit. Ellipsoid capsule, 6-10 mm long, angles not winged

Habitat:

Growing by the roadside in a rural area
