Description:

This was my first time finding a brachiopod, so I mistook it for a bivalve. Brachiopod are actually not even mollusks, much to my surprise. Instead of a left and right shell like mollusks, they have an upper and lower shell. The pedicle, or stalk attaches at the hinge opening you can see in the photos.

Habitat:

Sandy beach - Holiday Beach
