Field Notes

Description:

I bought and planted what was labeled as a lilac. It just started blooming (which shocked me because I thought they bloom in spring) and my mom says it looks more like a crepe myrtle. I don't mind either way but want to know for sure what I have. Any help is appreciated.

I'll try and get better pics. It was starting to rain as I took these.
Definitely not crape myrtle. Could be a lilac cultivar but its hard to tell without clearer photos.
