Field Notes

Description:

Very cute but merciless little Mongoose. Typical rusty brown colour, long bushy tail and pink nose.

Habitat:

All kinds of habitat, scrub and savanah and woodland. This one was one of a pair, that were living in or nearby our urban garden on the Kawe beach coast. Most likely living in a vacant section nearby that was full of long grasses and palms.

Notes:

This pair usually did a round of our garden every morning. The only other time i have seen dwarf Mongoose was in the Serengeti, but apparently they can be quite common in urban areas.
