Elephant Apple

Dillenia indica

Comments (1)

This tree is native to Philippines, as well as a number of other Asian and Southeast Asian contries. Its common name is Elephant Apple because the Asian Elephant is very fond of it. Your picture appears to show the tree in a garden, behind a wall. So, I think it would be safe to assume that it has been introduced to Brazil as a decorative garden plant.
