Field Notes

Description:

An american white pelican at the Tulsa Zoo. Now from what the zookeeper who gave me my tour told me, they don't have pelicans anymore. The ones they had got released into the wild but this one came back and is here to stay. So this one is technically a feral pelican? I suppose? The line is really blurry. Anyway, pelicans have got to be one of the neatest waterfowl with that little mouth pouch thing.

Habitat:

The American white pelican can be found all throughout North America.
