Field Notes

Description:

Red umbrella with white dots. When growth starts, the mushroom looks like a small egg, just a little white ball on the ground, as it is completely covered by the universal veil. As it grows, the umbrella goes out and breaks the veil, still lasting pieces of it on the adult form of the fruiting body, which are these little white dots above it.

Habitat:

Native to Northern hemisphere, this fungus has been spreading throughout the world, including in Brazil (mainly in Paraná), due to export seeds of coniferous tree (mainly Pinus sp.) Containing spores of the Amanita.
