Field Notes

Description:

On the way back to hotel, stopped by a bridge and looking down found a lone "Oh-washi" (Japanese name) waiting patiently near the shore to catch some fish. Light brown feathers with white tail.

Habitat:

Steller's Sea Eagles are distributed in far eastern Russia, Japan, northern China and the Korean Peninsula. It is assumed to winter in Japan and
the southern Kuril Islands.
