Description:
"Possibly the best known gastropod shell. A distinctive shell, up to 50 cm, with a pointed spire and a large body whorl. Exterior creamy with darker brown dashes and chevrons. Aperture large, orange, and with banded lip. Feeds on echinoderms, especially the crown-of-thorns starfish."

First time to see one live. Unfortunately this snail already retreated to its shell, with its operculum tightly shut as the first diver to see it picked it up.
Large, about 40 cm. Spotted at a depth of 5.5 m. Halo Anilao Diver Resort house reef, Batangas, Philippines
