Field Notes

Description:

I went outside, and I took a walk around the neighborhood. After walking for a while, I spotted some small, round, brown objects, lying in the grass, of a neighbor's house. I took all these round objects home with me, to photograph, as I did not want the ants, that were in the grass, to be crawling all over my feet and legs. The color of these round objects, was a medium brown color. The texture of these round objects, was bumpy. The bottom of these round objects, was pointed. One of these round objects, was three eights of an inch long, and three eights of an inch wide. These round objects, breaks open very easily, when you squeeze it between your fingers. I squeezed one of these round objects with my fingers, and it cracked open. Inside this round object, was a dark brown object. The texture of this dark, round object, was like that of a raisin. This dark, round object, was one fourth of an inch long, and one fourth of an inch wide.

Habitat:

I found these small, round, brown objects, lying in the grass, at a neighbor's house.

Notes:

I was walking around the neighborhood, when I spotted these small, round, brown objects, lying in the grass, at a neighbor's house, at around 9:00 a.m. in the morning.

They look like dried canella berries. Probably from a Canella winterana tree.
