Field Notes

Description:

This carolina wren has a vivid white eye stripe and a white throat. His back and head are a rusty brown and his belly is yellowish or light orange. Has a short stubby tail. The female is same as male. Size about 5 1/2".

Habitat:

There were a pair of carolina wrens in the swamp foraging near an old tree that was emerged in the water. Located at Shepard State Park in Gautier, Mississippi.
