Description:

It is a species newly arrived to the Americas, from Africa. On the African continent is always associated with large herds of herbivores, eat grasshoppers and other insects amazed by the displacement of animals on the savannah. He crossed the Atlantic for at least 100 years, with initial records in the Caribbean region. It spread rapidly across the continent, and today occupies all open areas where livestock is present, helping to control grasshoppers and leafhoppers in pastures. In 1965 it was first recorded in Brazil, on "Ilha de Marajó" ("Marajó's Island").

Dry areas, pastures, borders of lakes
