Multiple clusters of Alcohol Inky Caps

When I checked this corner on 6/17/10, there was one nice clump of alcohol inky caps, Coprinopsis atramentaria, growing at the base of the stop sign (upper right corner of photo). When I checked back 3 days later, 6/20/10, there were at least TEN clumps of alcohol inky caps growing in this grassy patch about 20 feet by 20 feet big on a very busy corner of Franklin Avenue and Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. They were in quite a state of decay so it's too bad I didn't catch it a day or two sooner to see them all in a state of gloriousness. Still, it was so cool to see this many alcohol inky caps on an extremely busy intersection in Crown Heights, Brooklyn!
