Field Notes

Description:

Large white or pale purple flower with yellow center. Leaves not usually apparent. Blooms early in spring at relatively high elevations (over 6,000 ft.). Loses color as it ages.

Habitat:

Mixed coniferous forest with Gambel's Oak also present. Grows in understory.

Notes:

Also known as Pulsatilla patens.
