a pair of flower beetles mating on a shasta daisy in my garden. They are similar to, but not the same as http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1464636356

I can see that now. Still looking for the ID of the earlier one. It just wasn't quite right/color or pattern. Unless there's some dimorphism
similarity is superficial, they are unrelated - but both wasp mimics.
